Illinois has transitioned to its own state-based marketplace, Get Covered Illinois, after previously using HealthCare.gov. Illinois has expanded Medicaid through HealthChoice Illinois. Illinois also has a Medigap birthday rule: existing Medigap enrollees ages 65 to 75 get a 45-day window starting on their birthday each year to switch to a plan with equal or lesser benefits from their current insurer or one of its affiliates without medical underwriting.
