What to know about Medicare in Washington
Washington runs its own marketplace, Washington Healthplanfinder, and has expanded Medicaid through Apple Health. Washington offers Cascade Care standardized plans, including public-option plans, on the marketplace. Washington also lets people who already have a Medigap plan switch at any time of year without a health questionnaire as long as they stay within the same group: Plan A to another Plan A, or any Plan B through N to another Plan B through N.
Medicare is federal, so enrollment windows are the same in every state: the Annual Enrollment Period runs October 15 through December 7, and Medicare Advantage members can make one change between January 1 and March 31. What differs in Washington is the plan lineup by county, Medigap rules, and which carriers an agent is appointed with. A local agent knows all three.

When can I change my Medicare plan in Washington?
The Annual Enrollment Period runs October 15 through December 7 every year. Medicare Advantage members also get January 1 through March 31 to make one change.
